The Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association Presents the 33rd Annual Parade of Homes Winners

The Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association has a logo that it lives by:
Building Homes, Enriching Communities, Changing Lives.”

Nothing is more impactful to a family than owning a home; kids do better in school, families stay together, in addition to the economic impact to the entire community. In Santa Fe, we are fortunate to have a robust Builder Association—a tremendous resource everyone should know about. So, here goes…

The Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association and Northern New Mexico Builders Association, NAHB (which work together help people connect with craftsmen and trades professionals to create a new home, or to support an existing home, since 1992. The Association also supports Northern New Mexico’s building industry through advocacy, education, and public engagement. They focus on housing access, responsible development, and professional standards across Santa Fe and surrounding counties.

If you need a qualified tradesperson or builder you can look on their website or give them call, or go in person to find recommendations, Website:sfahba.com. Phone:(505) 982-1774, Location: 2520 Camino Entrada, Santa Fe, NM.

The signature event is held the first two weekends in August, the Haciendas: A Parade of Homes, now in its 33rd year is a self-guided tour that showcases the pinnacle of achievement by builders, architects, designers, and craftspeople who team up to create some of the world’s best homes, right here in Santa Fe.

The Haciendas Reception & Awards Ceremony was on August 13, and celebrated during the Twilight Tour on August 15th, the Haciendas VIP Party / Fundraiser for Santa Fe Youth Symphony, gave back to the children of our community.

Homes participating in the Parade of Homes feature new builds across a spectrum of price points and a wide range of styles. The Parade of Homes offers a chance to speak one-on-one with the build and design teams, opening the door to learning opportunities and what it takes to create these homes. Parade-goers have the opportunity to engage directly, ask questions, and tour the homes. The parade emphasizes both design vision and technical execution, helping to demystify the homebuilding process.

Mark Schwebel, owner of Big Art,  told me at the tour before it was announced he won, “This is the most beautiful home he has ever built,” and the market agreed. It is a stunning home that features steel support beams, softened by stone floors, plastered walls and expansive folding doors, that bring the majestic outdoors into the home, creating breathless serenity. Sited near the end of a quiet road off of the 285 corridor massive stone walls create a haven for your Santa Fe sanctuary. Mark is currently building three other homes and is passionate about his work. The designer of the interior finishes, was Inspired Living Design, John Patterson and Jeff Valdez, who created a warm, inviting palette using stone, tiles and exquisite woods that both polish the home and welcome you home.  For more information, contact Tara Earley at [email protected].

I’m proud of the caliber of homes for sale in Santa Fe, and the tradespeople who create them. It’s good to take a moment to celebrate the people who help build our City Different.
