Santa Fe’s Many Views: What’s Your View?

Whether it’s looking out your kitchen window to a view of your garden, or sitting on your portal at sunset, no town talks more about the sky than anywhere I’ve lived or traveled.  In fact, the two top features people request when they are considering purchasing property are a home with light, and a view. But a “view” is not a straightforward characteristic, like granite counters, or tile floors. There are many kinds of views. This month we will consider some of the main “views” our glorious city has to offer, from the mountain ranges that surround us, and the town itself.  Here are just a few types of views and homes for sale offering this type of view from the RT Team listings!

Sangre de Cristo Views

Our beloved Sangre’s are the preferred view by experienced Santa Fean’s. You get a colorful sky in the evenings and the soft morning sunrise without direct sun. With an elevation of 7,000 feet, they are wooded and break open to a rock peak called Baldy. We hike, ski, dine and live in these mountains.

15 Via de las Yeguas - $1,975,000

360-Degree Views

DRUM ROLL… there are homes with 360-degree views, that will leave you breathless as you walk from room to room. Every side of the home is filled with the extraordinary beauty of this land, the red rocks from the glow of the sunset on the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the long deep view of the expansive western sunset sky.

10 Blazing Star in Las Campanas - $2,450,000

Jemez Mountain Views

Jemez views allow you to experience red rock canyons, rounded peaks and colorful mesas. There are hiking/biking trails into the Caldera; a volcanic crater, water falls, natural hot spring and finally down into the quaint town of Jemez Springs. This southern view is deep and long.

17 Vista Bella - #2,975,000

City Light Views

Nestled down between our three mountain ranges is the enchanted City of Santa Fe, At night the twinkling lights of the city brighten the night sky, complementing the thousands of stars. Like strands of lights on a tree, the streetlights trail up the hills along with the warm lights from people’s homes. It can be quite a comforting view.

147 Gonzales Road #18 - $1,420,000

Sunset Views

The painted sky of a Santa Fe sunset is breathtaking year-round. It’s impossible to tire of it, as every night it is different, from soft pink and blues to vivid reds and purples. Paintings, poetry and song are inspired by this colorful sky. Whether viewing from your living room, or around town, it warms your heart and eyes.

3890 Old Santa Fe Trail - $3,250,000

Wooded Views

Magnificent pine trees and rustling aspens, with meadows of flowers and wild grass are also a view. It is not always about looking up or not, but a view can also be a hug. Many prefer the sounds of nature and the privacy of living quietly withing the woods.

8 Hampton Road - $2,300,000

In closing, every home has a view. There are homes with moon views, sky view, views of the Ortiz or Los Alamos lights. All you must do is step outside anywhere in Santa Fe and your eyes are enjoying a glorious sky and the changing moods of the mountains that surround us.
