Party Like It’s 2020

We hope that everyone is experiencing a wonderful holiday in Santa Fe and away.
It is hard to believe that this Tuesday is New Year’s Eve! How did that happen?

Here are our recommendations for going out on New Year’s Eve in Santa Fe and R & R the day after.

Most of all, stay safe and enjoy!

New Year’s Eve on the Plaza:

8 -12: 15 am

Let’s welcome the New Year together in City Different Styleǃ Round up your family, friends and visitors to welcome the New Year to Santa Fe, New Mexico on December 31, 2019. Be part of the fun as The City Different says Adios to 2019 at the 5th Annual FREE New Year’s Eve on the Santa Fe Plaza.

The festivities begin at 8:00 p.m., with the Plaza warmed by stationary heaters and cozy piñon bonfires scenting the night air with an unmistakably comforting New Mexican fragrance.

Heat up the night with hot tunes from Sol Fire, Fun Adixx, Alex Maryol and Chango on the Santa Fe Bandstand, as The Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe provides free hot chocolate and bizcochitos (New Mexico’s official state cookie), along with a memorial banner for all to write down their hopes and dreams for a Prospero Año Nuevo in 2020. Food trucks will be onsite to satisfy those end-of-year cravings.

At 11:45 p.m., Mayor Webber and city officials will welcome the crowd to begin the countdown to a peaceful and prosperous new year. In recognition of Santa Fe’s signature status as The City Different, nothing dropsǃ When the traditional countdown ends, a Zia symbol crafted by a traditional Spanish colonial artisan will be raised at the stroke of midnight.

The Zia will rise with a festive fireworks display launched from Santa Fe’s oldest and most historic hotel, La Fonda on the Plaza, to light the night skies with colorǃ We’ll welcome the New Year to Santa with the age-old songs, Auld Lang Syne and Las Mañanitas, sung in a spirit of unity to say Bienvenidos 2020ǃ

ALL ARE WELCOMEǃ Please dress warmly and bundle up the kids for this uplifting, family-friendly tradition in America’s oldest capital city.

We hope to see YOU on the Plaza on December 31stǃ
